2 março 2022, 17:46 António Manuel Raminhos Cordeiro Grilo

In order to optimize the lab utilization, some lab shifts have remained unavailable. Shift RMICL05 ( Qui. 13:00 - 14:30 - LSD2 ; Qua. 14:30 - 16:00 - LSD2 ) will be opened tomorrow (03/Mar). On the other hand, the students are requested not to register in Shift RMICL02 ( Qua. 11:30 - 13:00 - LSD2 ; Ter. 13:30 - 15:00 - LSD2 ), since this is going to be closed.

PCs at LSD2

The lab classes will take place in lab LSD2. Although this lab is equipped with PCs and the required development tools (Android Studio and Arduino IDE) are already installed, the students are encouraged to install these tools in their own laptops, and to take them to the lab. This will make it easier to prepare the lab classes at home, and allows the students to better control the development environment.

Lab Classes: Registration

28 fevereiro 2022, 19:25 António Manuel Raminhos Cordeiro Grilo

Students who wish to form a group must register for the same lab class once lab registration is open in the Fenix system. In other words, the students that belong to the same group will have to be registered for the same class.

The groups properly said will be formed during the first lab class. The groups will be formed by two students.

Welcome Message

17 fevereiro 2022, 14:02 António Manuel Raminhos Cordeiro Grilo

 Welcome to RMIC!
欢迎来到移动网络和物联网 (RMIC)!

This new course is the successor of RMSF, now featuring a greater focus on the Internet of Things (IoT). Other topics include wireless communication fundamentals, advanced Wireless LANs and 4G/5G. The lab component was enhanced, being exclusively focused on the development of IoT applications. In RMIC, the first lab classes will guide the students through the development of a basic IoT application, providing them first contact with Android OS, cloud storage, sensor/actuator nodes, as well as WiFi, LoRaWAN and NB-IoT communication technologies. The project will be developed during the last weeks of the quarter, allowing the students to depart from the basis developed in the lab, which will be extended to achieve a more complex IoT application of their choice (new ideas are welcome).
At least one talk by industry invitees is expected to take place during the quarter.

In the meantime, students can send queries to the responsible person: António Grilo (antonio.m.r.c.grilo@tecnico.lisboa.pt)
