Next monday, Dec. 15th, 9H30 (at IST Alameda), during the theoretical class, we'll have an external talk by Ricardo Pires, from XpandIT (http://www.xpand-it.com), entitled "Pentaho Data Integration for Real-World ETL". The abstract of the talk is below. All students are welcome. In particular, we advise all students from GTI-Alameda to be present.
Abstract: Enterprises face daily challenges to process data, from which very few tools have all the needed functionality to overcome them. Pentaho Data Integration is not an exception but it provides the means to easily extend and accomplish even the most complex tasks. This presentation will have a general overview of the tool, basic concepts of data processing and orchestration, data cleansing and validation, programming and plugin extensions and finally, the integration with disruptive tools like Hadoop and MongoDB.

Na próxima terça-feira dia 9 de Dezembro, por indisponibilidade do docente Bruno Martins relacionada com uma deslocação em serviço, não terá lugar a aula de laboratório da disciplina de GTI agendada para as 09h30 na sala de laboratório 8 do Pavilhão de Informática I.
Em alternativa, e dado que esta aula de laboratório se focaria no apoio à realização da 3ª parte do projecto, encontra-se agendada uma aula de dúvidas extra, a qual irá decorrer na sexta-feira pelas 14h30 na sala de dúvidas do IST Alameda.
