The end...

Dear Network Science students,

If you don't have further comments regarding the marks available, we will submit the final evaluations to the central services of IST this Friday.

Once again, it was a pleasure to offer this course. We truly enjoyed it, and the results were fabulous. We hope you also had a good time.

We wish you all the best for your next steps, and, of course, we will remain available if you believe we can be of any help.

Some of you have asked me which courses could fit nicely as a Network Science follow-up. Here're some suggestions:

  • If you're interested in knowing more about the algorithmic part of our course (e.g., how to deal with large graphs, massively large data structures, sampling methods, etc.) I would recommend the "Advanced Algorithms" course.
  • If you prefer to know more about agent-based simulations, game theory, and related courses, I would suggest the "Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems" course.
  • Finally, I'd like to raise your attention to the fact the Network Science course is part of the Minor in Big Picture Thinking, which includes other courses related to complex systems, history, and sustainability. For instance, I recommend the course "Big History and Sustainability", which you might consider taking, now in March, in the 3rd quarter (even if you are not interested in taking the full minor).

Hope it helps!!

All our best wishes,

Francisco (& Henrique, João and Francisco)
