covid-19 testing

Dear students,
If, by any chance, you test positive for covid-19, please inform us and **do not** come to IST to do the exam.
Do not worry, because you'll have two more chances to do the exam if you miss it for health reasons: the second exam and the special period of exams ("época especial").
The most important in a "positive result situation" is that you take care of yourself and the others who are around you.

Dear students,
You need to bring sheets of paper to solve your exam.
As material, only those sheets of paper, a pen, and a basic calculator are allowed, besides your IST identity card.
If you do not have a basic calculator, and if there are some formulas you need to calculate, just replace the values and leave them as they are.
For those who never went to the campi, the rooms at Alameda are: F4, F3, FA3 and F8.
The other place, Átrio Norte, is at Taguspark campus.
Students should do their exam at the campus where they are enrolled.
Some recommendations regarding covid-19 protection:
If possible, please bring a small bottle to disinfect your hands and use it before you start solving your exam.
Then, do the same after finishing.
While waiting to enter the room, please keep social distancing and always use your mask.
When you finish the exam, do not stay very close to each other and always use your mask.

Project: solution and partial grades

The solution of the project is online.
Concerning the grades, Question 7 is still being corrected.
However, the partial grades including the Questions 1-6 are already online so that students are aware of them.
Students who want to check the correction of their project should send an email to the three instructors.

The solution of Question 1.a) of the 2018-2019 exam 1 is not accordingly to the insertion algorithm for B+-trees that we have seen in the theoretical classes.
After inserting search key value 18, the non-leaf node (10, 20, 26) is splitted into two non-leaf nodes that should be (10, , ) on the left and (20, 26, ) on the right. The root node should be (18, , ).
