To understand the different sources of financing infrastructure and services To provide students with the ability to conceive financial solutions for a specific project To develop capacity for strategic decisions on investment

Programa

Sources of funding for investment and operation. Infrastructure charging, pricing principles and cost recovery. Methods for selecting investments: general approach and mode specific characteristics. State intervention in financing of infrastructures and services. Forms of privatization: formal; material and functional PPP Models: types of PPP; structure of agreements; stages in a PPP transaction. Financial and economic implications of PPP models Risk profiles, allocation and management for different PPP models. Developing risk matrix for public/ private sectors infrastructure investment. Contractual forms and regulatory frameworks for stable partnerships. Key performance indicators to monitor a PPP agreement. Real options analysis and investment under uncertainty. Strategy as a portfolio for real options and development of scenarios for real options. Value of time in investment. Case studies analysis.
