Beneficial bacteria - plant interactions: nitrogen fixation.
7 outubro 2015, 09:00 • Jorge Humberto Gomes Leitão
Nitrogen sources and availability to living organisms. Biological fixation of nitrogen. Initial steps in bacteria-plant interactions: production of flavenoids by plants and Nod factors by bacteria. Chemical structures of flavenoids and Nod factors. Bacteria and host cell events following initial recognition: formation of the infection thread, initial developments of a primordial nodule, maturation of the nodule and fixation of nitrogen by endosymbiotic bacteriods. Dinitrogenase and dinitrogenase reductase enzymes inlvoded in the conversion of dinitrogen into ammonia. Main biochemical pathawys occurring in a mature bacteriod fixing nitrogen.
