Preparation of the students´ presentations to be held over the next weeks

18 novembro 2015, 09:00 Isabel Sá-Correia

Preparation of the students´ presentations of scientific articles to be held over the next weeks. This class follows individual discussions with the different groups of students to examine the content of the respective article and to guide them in the preparation of the oral presentations to be delivered in class.

Organelle function, biogenesis and inheretance. Mechanisms of pathogenicity in Candida species

16 novembro 2015, 08:30 Miguel Nobre Parreira Cacho Teixeira

Organelle function, biogenesis and inheretance: mitochondria, peroxisomes and endoplasmic reticulum.

Mechanisms of pathogenicity in fungal pathogens of the Candida genus. Phenotypic switching, dimorphic growth, biofilm formation, excretion of proteases, lipases and phospholipases. Differences among the most common candida pathogens in the context of virulence mechanisms.
