Summer School in Sustainable Supply Chains

The Department of Engineering and Management is pleased to announce the 2015 Summer School in Sustainable Supply Chains.

This summer school will provide the participants with an overview on sustainability and on how to incorporate such paradigm into supply chains, from the strategic to the operational level. Logistics and manufacturing operations will be revisited encompassing a sustainability goal. Decision systems methods will be explored in hands-on sessions and real case studies discussed with industry invited lecturer

Modules

M1 - Sustainability- Measuring and reporting: Sustainability Definition and Concepts; Sustainability tools and methods.

M2 - Towards Supply Chains: Network Design and Planning; Data Gathering and Planning Tools – Optimization.

M3 - Towards Sustainable Logistics Operations: Logistics activities concepts and Definition; Distribution and Warehousing revisited for Sustainability.

M4 - Modelling Supply Chains and Sustainability: Tutorial on GAMS language for modelling sustainable supply chains; General Modelling of Sustainable Supply Chains using Mixed Integer Linear Programming.

Modelling Sustainable Supply Chains 1 and 2 – Hands On Sessions – requires 1 Laptop/group of 4 participants with Mircrosoft Excel and GAMS (demo version, can be downloaded from www.gams.com).



Fees and Registration:


  • Until the 10th of July

BSc, MSc, PhD Students – 350 € (requires confirmation of academic status)

Other participants (researchers, faculty, company participants) – 600 €


  • After the 10th of July

BSc, MSc, PhD Students – 400 € (requires confirmation of academic status)

Other participants (researchers, faculty, company participants) – 700 €

 

Fees include: summer school materials, coffee breaks and certificate of participation.
