The exam of Gene and Cell Therapy will be done under the Google Classroom platform. In order to access the exam you should be registered by using the IST credentials (username and password to access Fénix). If you are not yet registered you should go to https://selfservice.dsi.tecnico.ulisboa.pt and activate the GSuite service. For the exams you should join a Zoom session having your camera turned on.

Due to new procedures to fight against coronavirus outbreak, the contingency plan for Gene and Cell Therapy classes is now extend until the end of Easter holidays. The alterations from the previous email and the new ones were updated as follows:


- The class on March 11th is postponed to March 18th and will be live on line (16.30-18h) (more details will be given soon). The assignment scheduled for March 11th will be performed after the on line class on March 18th. More details will be given then, but you should meet (group of 4 students) on line (or in person if safe) to discuss a paper and then write a comment to be delivered before 24h from March 20th.

- (UPDATED)The invited seminar on March 13th and March 27th are both postponed to April 15th 16.30-18.30h.

- The class on March 25th is anticipated to March 20th and will be live on line (15-17h) (more details will be given later). The assignment scheduled for March 25th should be sent to me as a video. More details will be given soon but you should meet (group of 5 students) on line (or in person if safe) to discuss a paper (released on March 20th) and create a video (6-7 min) presentation to be delivered before 24h from March 27th. Then all videos would be scrutinised by all groups before 24h from April 1st.

- Modification of gene transcription and/or translation by gene knockout, knockin and knockdown using autologous and heterologous genes. Target diseases and examples of clinical trials.
Assignment #3 is released. The delivery of the comment is expected before 24h from March 20th.

20 Mar live on line
- Design and selection of xenonucleic acids (PNAs, LNAs, morpholinos, aptamers)- DNA vaccines
Assignment #4 is released (Gene therapy for ..: from the bench to the bedside). The delivery of the video (6-7 mmin) is expected before 24h from March 27th and then the evaluation of the videos from the other groups before 24h from April 1st.

Assignment #5 is released (Advertising of a GCT product). The  delivery of the video (6-7 min) is expected before 24h from April  13th and then the evaluation of the videos from the other groups before 24h from April 15th ). On line support by email, phone, etc until April 13th by request.

Following the instructions from the Rector of Universidade de Lisboa and the President of Instituto Superior Técnico, all the classes at IST will be cancelled until 27th of March. In order to guarantee the continuity of teaching activities, as normal as possible, the following plan for Gene and Cell Therapy will be implemented:


- The class on March 11th is postponed to March 18th and will be live on line (16.30-18h) (more details will be given soon). The assignment scheduled for March 11th will be performed after the on line class on March 18th.
