Welcome to UC3 and UC4 (3rd cycle of Plasmas, Lasers and Nuclear Fusion)

5 outubro 2018, 11:13 Luís Paulo Da Mota Capitão Lemos Alves

In 2018/2019, there will be an integrated development of curricular units

Advanced Topics in Plasma Physics, Nuclear Fusion and Lasers

Coordinator: Luís L. Alves

&

Advanced Computing in Physics and Engineering

Coordinator: Luís O. Silva

The course is organized around the concept of "Laboratory Rotations" (LR), comprising the following modules:

ONE LR-Introductory (LRI), chosen out of the following 4 modules
* LRI1: Plasma physics at high energy density
* LRI2: Low-temperature plasma science and engineering
* LRI3: Plasma science and engineering of magnetic fusion
* LRI4: Space and Astrophysical Plasmas

TWO LR-Development (LRD), chosen from the available list of works proposed by the different groups of IPFN.

General information on the course can be found here.
Information on the LRIs can be found in the different sections of this website (under current updating).
Information on the LRDs can be found in the corresponding section of this website.

The students choose ONE LRI (out of the 4 modules available), to be lectured between October 22 - November 9.
The distribution of the students by the  Laboratory Rotations - Introductory is the following

LRI1: Plasma physics at high energy density (no registrations)

LRI2: Low-temperature plasma science and engineering (coordinator: Luís L. Alves)
Duarte Gonçalves
Ricardo Ferreira

LRI3: Plasma science and engineering of magnetic fusion (coordinator: Bernardo Carvalho)
Emanuel Alves Ricardo
André Torres
Rui Calado
These students will have a specific calendar for the training program - see here

LRI4: Space and Astrophysical Plasmas (coordinator: Thomas Grismayer)
Rui Torres

The students choose TWO LRDs, to be carried out between November 12, 2018 - January 18, 2019
