In MISO definition the curve can not go down. Zero or negative slope cause errors. 3) The slope of the linear part (the ratio stress/strain of your 1st point) has to be equal to your EX.

  • Using ANSYS you can do two types of analyses. The 1st one is to check the response of the structure subject to a certain load. When comparing the resultant stress value with the yield strength of the material, you can conclude that the pipe is able or not to work well in that loading condition.
    In this FEA we are going to find out the collapse pressure of the pipe, which is the maximum pressure you pipe can sustain. This is the 2nd job that we can do using ANSYS. In ANSYS you will see that the pipe starts to fail when subjected to a percentage of the full loading. In this way the collapse pressure of the pipe is obtained.
