OOP exam assessment (new)

25 junho 2020, 21:57 Alexandra Sofia Martins de Carvalho

Since last Wednesday the Zoom authentication is directly via Instituto Superior Técnico, and not through Universidade de Lisboa.
So, instead of:
  • Then, a window appears to choose an institution to which the University of Lisbon belongs.
  • After selecting the University of Lisbon, a new window appears where the Instituto Superior Técnico must be chosen.
you just need to:
  • Then, a window appears to choose an institution of the University of Lisbon.
  • Select ULisboa - Instituto Superior Técnico.
Zoom session starts at 9AM.

OOP exam assessment

16 junho 2020, 11:35 Alexandra Sofia Martins de Carvalho

 1. Registration via Fenix for the exam is mandatory:

  • The deadline for enrolling in the 1st OOP exam is June 24, 2020 (12:00).
  • Registration is a crucial element, from an administrative point of view, in exam organization.
  • Students who DO NOT enroll for the examination will not be able to do the exam.
2. Exam duration - 1h05m in total, being:
  • 20 min for authentication via Zoom (9:15-9:35).
  • 40 min for the exam (9:35-10:15).
  • 5 min for submission (10:15-10:20).
3. Zoom sessions:
  • Students will be distributed in different Zoom sessions (available June 25), each of which will be under the responsibility of a vigilant professor.
  • Each student must access the Zoom session 20 min before the exam starts, using the IST student number followed by his name and surname (for example, 99999 Alfredo Silva).
  • Camera and microphone are mandatory in the Zoom session throughout the examination.
  • Headphones are not allowed.
  • Each student can only attend one Zoom session.
  • Zoom remote connections for the exam are authenticated:
    • In these sessions, a window appears saying: "This meeting is for authenticated attendees only".
    • You must click on "Sign in to join".
    • Then, in the new window that appears, choose "Sign in with SSO".
    • In the new window that appears, write "videoconf-colibri" to make "videoconf-colibri.zoom.us".
    • Then, a window appears to choose an institution of the University of Lisbon.
    • After selecting the University of Lisbon, a new window appears where the Instituto Superior Técnico must be chosen.
    • Then, you are redirected to the Fenix authentication page, and this ends the authentication process.
  • Before the exam starts, each student will be asked to approach the camera holding the IST card or Citizen Card / Passport (in this case, you can cover the number if you prefer). At that time, a screenshot will be made and deleted at the end of the semester.
  • It is not possible to enter the Zoom session after the exam starts!
4. The exam:
  • The exam will be done via Google Classroom with IST email credentials (Google Classroom must be activated via DSI).
  • Once the exam has started, each student must remain in place and in the Zoom session until the end of the exam, with no possibility of leaving even in case of withdrawal, except in emergency situations that will have to be duly justified.
  • The student must remain visible in the Zoom session for the duration of the exam.
  • The camera and microphone must be connected during the exam. The microphone will be turned off by the vigilant professor at the beginning of the exam, and it can be turned on by him at random times throughout the exam.
  • If students need to communicate with the professor after starting the exam, they can do so by private chat on Zoom only.
  • Most of the questions of the exam will be answered directly in a Google Form. Any uploaded file required (e.g., UML) must be scanned in a single PDF and the file name must follow the format: student number 99999 Alfredo Silva must submit the UML file 99999_AlfredoSilva_UML.pdf
  • At the end of the exam, do not forget to mark it as done ("Submit").
  • Upon successful submission, an automatic reply will be sent to your IST email.
  • Submissions will not be accepted after the stated period.
5. Withdrawals:
  • The student must notify the professor of the Zoom session and must remain in the Zoom session until the end of the respective exam, leaving only when indicated.
  • The student must also send a PDF file by private chat on Zoom where he/she writes "I will not deliver the exam", with his/her signature and date.
6. Technical problems:
  • If the student has technical problems during the assessment, he/she should contact the professor as soon as possible (private chat on Zoom or direct message via Slack) identifying the situation, and send proof of the event (photo, image, etc.). Any contact should be done within 1h. If technical problems are proven, an oral assessment will be taken by videoconference on the first working day that follows the exam.
  • If a student does not have the conditions to carry out the assessment according to the UC's requirements, he/she may exceptionally request the exam to be carried out at Técnico's facilities (space and broadband availability), ensuring the appropriate security conditions recommended by the DGS. Técnico services will try to respond as soon as possible in order to confirm the possibility of satisfying the request. For this purpose, the student must send an email with a minimum of 7 days prior to the date of the assessment, fill the form and send to cp.exames@tecnico.ulisboa.pt.

OOP project oral discussions

19 maio 2020, 12:09 Alexandra Sofia Martins de Carvalho

The OOP project oral discussions will be schedule with Doodle. A link to register in the OOP oral discussion will be send, by email, to all students on Friday 22/05 morning (around 9:00).

In this doodle link the group will register for the oral discussion of the OOP project. Before scheduling a time slot for discussion, group members should contact each other to check and confirm their availability, and then choose one of the time slots available for discussion. The group must be enrolled with the name "Group N" where N is the number of the Project group.

Once a group has chosen a time slot there is no way to change it (the schedule pool is hidden to the students). If any change to the registration is required, please send an e-mail to the professor. The schedule pool will be made available to the students from time to time in the Project section. This will allow students to check their registration.

Registration will be open until 9:00 on Monday 25/05. Any group that does not register until this deadline will be registered in one of the available time slots by the professor; these students should check their oral discussion time slots in fenix. The final table with the group scheduling for the OOP project discussions will be made available in the Project section on Monday 25/05 at 12:30. Discussions start on Monday 25/05 at 15:30, so students should check the discussion table in fenix on time, as some minor schedule rearrangements may be required to fill some free slots! If you find any problem in this discussion table please contact the professor.

All group members must attend the discussion. The final grade of the project will depend on this discussion, and it will not be necessarily the same for all group members.

In order to mitigate overlapping problems with other courses timetables, oral discussions will be made, as much as possible, during time periods of the OOP course. The available time slots are:

  • Monday       25/05 - 15:30, 15:50, 16:10, 16:30 (4 discussions)
  • Tuesday       26/05 -  11:00, 11:20, 11:40, 12:00 (4 discussions)
  • Wednesday 27/05 - 09:00, 09:20, 09:40, 10:00, 10:20, 10:40, 11:00, 11:20, 11:40, 12:00, 15:30, 15:50, 16:10, 16:30 (14 discussions)
  • Thursday     28/05 - 09:10, 09:30, 09:50, 10:10, 10:30, 10:50, 11:10, 11:30, 11:50, 12:10, 15:30, 15:50, 16:10, 16:30 (14 discussions)
Discussions will be done via Zoom, with both camera and microphone on!

OOP evaluations

13 maio 2020, 08:54 Alexandra Sofia Martins de Carvalho

To perform evaluations via GoogleClassroom you all need to activate the Gsuite at your self-service in:
https://selfservice.dsi.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/

Do that until Wednesday, May 13, 18:00!

It is more os less obvious, but instructions are here:
https://si.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/en/servicos/servicos-externos/google-suite-for-education/

If you have any doubts about that, please post a message in the Slack #evaluations channel.

Next week, during lectures (May 18 and 19), the system will be tested. You will answer some questions related to previous years' exams that serve as revision and adapting to remote evaluation.
