First Functional Prototype

Objectives

The objectives for this lesson are the following:

  1. Development of a first functional prototype
  2. Application of usability tests to the prototype
  3. Reporting of results

Procedure

For this lesson students shall develop a functional prototype of their application. This prototype shall reflect the result of all previous lessons, namely the results from the low fidelity and low functionality prototypes and all usability tests that were carried out.

Although this prototype is not final, it should be already close to the final version and incorporate most functionalities and be able to demonstrate an overall view of the application.

NOTE: The prototype need only simulate the accessory procedures of the application, that is, there is no need to use any real data base or to establish network connections.

The prototype shall be evaluated with the users, applying both the usability tests previously defined and new ones to complete the test suite.

Finally, students shall report results and conclusions.

Presentation

Each group has 5 minutes for presentation.
The presentation must include a demonstration of the prototype.
All presentation files to be previously published in your group website.

Evaluation

The evaluation for this lesson will be based on:

  • Quality of the prototype presented
  • Quality and content of the presentation
  • Participation in the discussion
