MAP45, Projects and Presentations

Dear Students,

 

Please take note of the following information:

1. Mid-term assessment MAP45

The mid-term assessment MAP45 will take place on Monday 31^st of October at 8:00h (room Q4.2). The assessment will cover the following topics: (i) Plasticity theory, (ii) Forging, (iii) Shearing, (iv) Deep Drawing and (v) Metal Cutting.

 

2. Projects

The templates for writing the project report and for preparing the oral presentation are available at the internet page of the course.

The deadline for delivering the projects is Friday 4^th of November (17:00h).

The oral presentation of the projects will take place on the mornings of Monday 7^th and Tuesday 8^th of November according to a schedule that will be provided in due time.

The deadline for delivering the power point presentations is Sunday 6^th of November (17:00h).

Both projects and power point presentations must be supplied as .pdf files to the following e-mail (pmartins@tecnico.ulisboa.pt).

No projects and power point presentations will be accepted after the corresponding deadlines.

Dear Students,

 

Welcome to the Metal Forming and Metal Cutting Technologies course of 2022/2023.

On this first e-mail I would like to give you the following information:

a)     The classes will start on September 19th

b)     The internet page of the course is available at https://fenix.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/disciplinas/TEMaq/2022-2023/1-semestre

c)      The internet page of the course allows downloading the classroom presentations, the software and the examples files that will be used in the laboratory classes

d)     The laboratory classes will be focused on demonstrations of technological processes and on the utilization of the finite element computer software that will be used in the project. Please bring your computer when the laboratory classes are focused on finite element modelling

e)     The first powerpoint file ‘Introduction_MSc_Mat_2022.pdf’ contains the work plan for the entire period

f)       The evaluation consists of a mid-term assessment MAP-45 (50% of the final classification, with a minimum admissible classification of 8 points out of 20 points) and a project (50% of the final classification, with a minimum admissible classification of 9.5 points out of 20 points)

g)      The files named as ‘Project guidelines_MSc_Mat_2022.pdf’, ‘template project report.docx’ and ‘Presentation template.pptx’ are related to the project (guidelines, written report and oral presentation)

h)     The project will be a team work (3 students per group)

i)       The bibliography is provided at the internet page of the course.
