SPO exam (4th of July 2017, 8:00 am)

Students intending to take the full exam or repeat any of the two tests (all scheduled for the 4th of July, 8:00) should register in Fenix (in the appropriate section) until 13:00 on the 3rd of July.

As stated in the assessment method, “…In the 2nd exam date, the students can choose to take the full exam (covering all the program topics) or any of the two tests (covering only the program topics evaluated in one of the tests).”

Students are allowed to bring to the test/exam: a calculator (any type, as long as it is used only to perform calculations; computers, tablets, smart phones or any communication devices are not allowed); the formulary on queueing models as it is available in Fenix (section “Practical classes materials”), without comments or any additional notes; and one (if repeating one test) or two (for the full exam) A4 sheets (both sides) that must be handwritten (computer processed text or photocopies are not allowed). The content of these sheets is free, but it should include any formulas, definitions, etc. that might be needed during the exam/test and must have at the top (within a strip with about 2cm) the identification of the student (name and number). Students must bring along their IST student card (with a photo) or any “official” identification card (“cartão do cidadão”, driving license, passport) also with a photo.

The structure and style of the full exam is similar to previous year’s full exams (available in section “Previous exams/tests”) and its duration is about 2h 30min.

As to any of the two tests, their duration is about 1h 30min and their structure and style will be similar to the previous tests taken this academic year. Please read previous announcements indicating the program topics covered by each of the tests.

Unfortunately, and due to work overload, it is doubtful that grades on the project work can be published before the exam date.
