Required Software for Classes

Please install on your personal computers (in time for the classes starting on the week of September 11):

Microsoft Excel: Add Solver Add-in by going to the File Menu->Options->Add-Ins->Manage Excel Add-ins and checking the Solver Add-in box (Windows). In MacOS, you need to go to the Tools Menu->Excel Add-ins, for the solver to appear on the Data toolbar.

Aspen Plus 14: You need to contact LTI-DEQB (lti-deqb@tecnico.ulisboa.pt) to request your installation keys and instructions to download the software.

GAMS 47.5: First, download the software for your platform (e.g., Windows, MacOS) from the website and install it. Second, request a community license by signing up to the academic portal with your university email address. Third, generate a free academic community license file, which consists of a text file. Fourth, copy the text from the license file. Fifth, open the GAMS Studio software, go to the Help Menu->GAMS Licensing and it will recognise the license file. You can then use the software to run optimisation models.
