Class 15 - Innovation and Sustainability in Architecture by Prof. Manuel Correia Guedes has been re-scheduled and will now take place on December 17 in lieu of the previously scheduled student support session.

Instead of oral pitch presentations of their team projects, we ask that student groups provide a short summary (maximum one page) of their ongoing projects. Groups should send a DOC/PDF file containing the summary to rui.baptista@tecnico.ulisboa.pt and Filipa.ribeiro@tecnico.ulisboa.pt by December 20.

Summaries should including short notes about:

1) What is the significance of the topic for sustainable development;

2) Real world cases/applications to be analysed in the final report.

Due to technical problems, access to Socrative was abruptly interrupted after last Monday's class. If you were unable to submit your report, please e-mail it to filipa.ribeiro@tecnico.ulisboa.pt.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Project Groups and Themes

24 novembro 2021, 13:04 Rui Baptista

The final list of groups and their chosen themes is available in the Class Materials section of the course website. Please let us know if any changes are required.
There are 23 groups (groups 16 and 18 and groups 8 and 23 were merged). Some themes were picked by more than one group. If any group would like to change its chosen theme, please let us know.

The team projects should focus on the following main issues:
1. Significance of the theme for economic growth and sustainability
2. How technology can promote (or hinder) sustainability
3. Actions taken by companies and governments so far
4. Future developments

The December 17 class will be dedicated to short presentations by each group on their progress. Presentations should focus on the significance of the theme for economic growth and sustainability and how technological innovation can help address current problems.
Given the large number of groups, oral presentations will be limited to 3-4 minutes. Only one member of the group will present. Presentations should not include slides or other video materials.

Good luck with your projects!
