Motivation

Given the worsening of the pandemic situation in Portugal, and taking into account the recommendations recently issued by the President of the IST, the course faculty made the decision to conduct the assessment exams remotely (online), using the Moodle platform of the DEEC. The recommended solution consists of a quiz/test template, including possibly multiple-answer question groups (answered in Moodle), and open-answer groups, also solved in Moodle through text input, possibly using images present in the test and which should be modified by the students and uploaded in Moodle as an attachment.

Moodle Platform
The access to the Moodle platform makes use of the Fenix credentials, just by pressing the "IST Login" button, on the right side of the screen. You must not use the "Username" and "Password" fields on the left side of the login page.

Students must enrol into Moodle at least 10 mins. before the start of the exam.
The exam comprises 4 groups of questions, lasting a maximum time of 30 minutes, each. The answers to the questions in each group should be made sequentially without the possibility of backtracking. Also, each group of answers should be submitted before the end of the 30 minutes period allocated for that group.
During the trial, the course faculty will remain contactable via videoconference (link to be made available on the Moodle page). However, this communication channel should always be used through the chat channel, so as not to disturb other students.

Last but not the least, to be able to take part in the exam the students must turn on their cameras and microphones which should stay on for the whole duration of the event. Furthermore, this template should be fulfilled by the students and sent by e-mail to the UC responsible at the end of the test. If the student does not have access to a printer, he (she) can use a blank sheet and fill in the header by hand. This sheet will have to be signed according to the signature of the Citizen Card.
