Métodos de Avaliação

Exam (60%) and project (40%)

The project will be composed of 4 stages:

  • The evaluation of each stage of the project has equal weight, i.e., 10% of the final grade or, equivalently, 25% of the project grade.
  • Programming projects (stages 1-3)
    • Each stage will encompass the submission of a code assignment.
    • Delivery dates:
      • Stage 1: March 11
      • Stage 2: April 1
      • Stage 3: April 22
    • In the lab class following each delivery, there will be an in-lab individual programming exercise, to extend the solution of the group, and individual discussion. Presences in these labs are mandatory.  Failing to attend the evaluation lab will cause the stage to be evaluated as 0. The weights for the grade components of the "trabalhadores-estudantes" are the same, and they should contact the professor if they need any flexibility regarding the dates for their evaluations.
    • Evaluation is based on code, programming exercise, and discussion

  • Paper presentation and reviewing (stage 4)
    • A group of recent papers will be chosen as if they were submitted to a conference
    • Students act as a program committee to decide which papers to "accept" (committee meeting in Lab).
    • Decision is based on reviews and committee discussion.
    • Additionally, each group presents one paper in lecture
    • Evaluation based on presentation, reviews, discussion
    • Delivery date (reviews due): May 13
