During the last three weeks of the quarter, the students will develop a small IoT project. Some suggestions are the following:
1.Smart pill dispenser.
2.Monitoring water quality (e.g., turbidity, water flow, and temperature) in fish farm pond.
3.Smart elderly care.
4. Pet monitoring and entertainment.
5.Reconnaissance of indoor
spaces in support of police operations (robot or drone).
6. Robot or drone to detect concentration of toxic gases in industrial facilities.
7.Power transformer damage prevention
through temperature monitoring.
8.Smart agriculture taking into account microclimates.
9.Fire detection and extinction in
buildings.
10.Bodycam and biometric sensors for firefighters or policemen.
11. Access control in critical facilities.
12. IoT data retrieval UAV (MULE).
13. More to come... Bring your own idea! We
are also open to analyze student project proposals, as long as they respect
minimum requirements.
Unless the students bring equipment of their own, the equipment to be used in the projects will be limited to the one available in the lab.
