During the last three weeks of the quarter, the students will develop a small IoT project. Some suggestions are the following:~

.Intruder detection in critical facilities.
.Monitoring water quality (e.g., turbidity and temperature) in fish farm pond.
.Monitoring the condition of elderly people, or people suffering from dementia.
.Reconnaissance of indoor spaces in support of police operations.
.Power transformer damage prevention through temperature monitoring.
.Smart agriculture.
.Fire detection and extinction in buildings.
.Bodycam and biometric sensors for firefighters or policemen. (Note: a variant of this work may be developed using the SIRESP/TETRA emergency network)

.More to come... Bring your own idea! We are also open to analyze student project proposals, as long as they respect minimum requirements.

Unless the students bring equipment of their own, the equipment to be used in the projects will be limited to the one available in the lab.
