The slides of the Part 3 are all published.

The assignment of the Part 3 is as follows (PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS ASSIGNMENT CAN BE MADE individually OR BY GROUPS OF 2 STUDENTS,  BUT THEY CANNOT BE THE SAME OF ANY PREVIOUS ASSIGNMENT):

• Consider the book “The Fourth Paradigm: Data-Intensive Scientific Discovery”. Write an essay of 1500 words (max. 4 pages) with the following 3 major sections:

• A description, in your own words, of the concept of the “Fourth Paradigm”
• A scoping of the “Fourth Paradigm” in the big vision of the “open data”
• A set of proposals on how the techniques of the body of knowledge of Information Retrieval (exposed in the Part 1 and Part 2 of this course) can contribute to the supporting of the vision of the “Fourth Paradigm”.
