Lab Structure & Evaluation

The laboratory component comprises two lab works and a mini project (code + report + oral discussion), to be done in groups of two students. All works must be submitted through Fénix following the instructions given in section Planning (below).
The laboratory grade comprises the grades of the 3 deliverables (90%) and interaction in the class with the professor (10%). The weights of the deliverables in the corresponding final grade are 10%, 20%, and 70%.
Laboratory grades obtained in the academic years 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 are accepted.

Planning (subject to change)

week 1 (16/02/2026 to 20/02/2026) – No lab class – Shift enrollment in Fenix. Students must form groups of 2 among the colleagues of their shift.

week 2 (23/02/2026 to 27/02/2026) – Lab1 Sampling and Aliasing (submission of code in Fenix until 28/02 at 23:59)

week 3 (02/03/2026 to 06/03/2026) – Lab2 Spectral Analysis (submission of code in Fenix until 14/03 at 23:59)

week 4 (09/03/2026 to 13/03/2026) – Project

week 5 (16/03/2026 to 20/03/2026) – Project

week 6 (23/03/2026 to 27/03/2026) – Project (submission of code and report in Fenix until 28/03 at 23:59)

week 7 (30/03/2026 to 02/04/2026) – Project Evaluation - Oral discussions on Wednesday April 1st and Thursday April 2nd

Laboratory Code of Conduct

  • Do your own work. You may discuss concepts with others, but all code, figures, and written answers you submit must be your own. You must understand them and be able to explain everything you submit.
  • Use AI tools responsibly. AI may be used for clarification or debugging, but not to generate full solutions or reports for submission. You remain responsible for everything you submit and must acknowledge AI use.
  • Follow academic integrity rules. Plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, or fabricated results are not permitted. This means that reference to, or use of another person's laboratory solutions from the current or previous years is considered unethical. It is similarly unethical to allow another person to copy your laboratory solutions or work.
