Dear Students,

Welcome to the New Trends of Chemistry course! Our first class will be held on November 11.

Each week, we’ll host a guest speaker who will present a seminar on their research, offering us the opportunity to explore the latest advancements and challenges across various fields of chemistry. You can find the full program—including guest names and seminar topics—on the course webpage.

Each session, a group of two students will be responsible for introducing the guest speaker and facilitating the subsequent discussion. Our first presenter will be Adrian Pastor, a researcher at the Centro de Química Estrutural.

After each session, every student is expected to write a short report, which will be submitted via a personal folder link created for each of you. The guidelines for the weekly reports are also available on the course webpage.

Please note that active participation in the scientific discussions following each seminar is expected from everyone and will be considered in your final assessment (see the “Evaluation Method” section on the course webpage for details).
