• Q - QUIZZES (45%) (individual, compulsory, 6 weekly multiple-choice mini-tests. These are planned to: (i) check preparation of the week’s material; (ii) check understanding of basic topics discussed in the previous week. Quizzes done during classes, 15 min each max.)

• P1 - INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATION (30%) (individual, compulsory, planned for the 4th week of classes); total - 15 minutes (10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes discussion); Document: Power Point Presentation; Objective: to present and discuss individually an article of the literature proposed by the teacher and its general context in the top-down approach (e.g., microreactors, lab-on-a-chip, sensors, actuators)

• P2 - GROUP CHALLENGE (25%) (groups of 3, compulsory, planned for discussion during the 8th week of classes, the group proposes their original solution for a complex problem using nanotechnology concepts) •

IMPORTANT NOTE: This course is not planned to have exams. All the students must follow the evaluation method described above. No new students are accepted after the end of September. No credit in prior assignments for late starters. If a student wants to do an exam, they will have a chance during the P1 exam period, 9th week of classes. The exam grade will be 100% of the course grade.
