Before starting classes (Semester2, P4, April), let me post some links that you may browse without the need of bibliography. First, a short remind of what humankind does not want industry to be, shown in a comic way:

Please note the "Big Brother" in the video wall, of the "Modern Times" movie, with Charlie Chaplin (1936), while the "1984" book by George Orwell was yet to be published (1949) and made definitely "Big Brother" a keyword for the world.

Those modern times, that made people fear inhuman work, are now old times. Nowadays, one may effectively experience the opposite, i.e. industry saving people from inhuman work. Engineering is paving the right ways:
- Chinese factory replaces 90% of human workers with robots
- Tesla's future is completely inhuman — and we shouldn't be surprised

Interestingly, one would expect that the revolutionary aspects of industrial development, namely Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 , would dramatically change the industrial basic hardware units, the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). However, markets show the opposite, PLCs will continue being used and are being upgraded in a careful, smooth, way:
