Dear LEQ students,

The goal of the poster presentation is that you can share your learning with the whole department by employing a more interactive communication mean (poster).

The poster session will take place on October 23rd at ground floor of South Tower: 

8h45-9h00: display of posters (collect your poster at LTI and paste it in the allocated space)
9h00-10h10: poster presentations for Teams 1-8
10h10-10h20: coffee break 
10h20-11h30: poster presentation for Teams 9-16

Poster: tips and submission guidelines

What is a poster?

visual means of presenting the main results and conclusions, with a utterly concise summary of the motivation, objectives, and research strategy

How does the presentation goes?

you'll be standing next to the poster, people will pass by and ask you about what you have learned with your work and discuss key results. To introduce your work to those who will see it for the first time, prepare a 60-second ‘speech’.Then, the discussion will go on the main results presented in the poster.

Content (minimum)

title, identification of author(s), identification of supervisor(s), motivation, objective, experimental/computational methods (summarised), main results, conclusions, acknowledgements (in particular to colleagues from whom you obtained results or knowledge), references (max. 5)

Layout

Paper Format A0, white background, maximum five images, minimum text File format: PDF

Practical tips

software: canva or powerpointre, size the document to A0 before starting (so that the resolution is maximized when printing)
test: print in A4 format and read at arm's length: if you can't read it, the audience won't be able to see it neither.

Mid-term presentation: grades

Dear LEQ students,


Congratulations for all you have achieved in only 3 weeks!

The mid-term presentation grades are available on the "General info/ Grading" tab. This also serve as feedback, for further refining your work strategy and experimental design, but also your presentation skills. 

Bear in mind: what matters is how you learn from the data you have and not how much data you acquire.

Team registration & doc submission

Dear LEQ Students,


For the purpose of submitting class prep and presentation docs, please register individually into the team in Fénix with the same number as in the Team allocation shared speadsheet. 
For the class preps:
  • please submit this and previous weeks' class prep docs
  • for week 4 and 5, please submit only via Fénix (deadline remains 3 days prior to class, regardless of Fénix info)
For mid-term presentation, please submit it till 18h the day prior to the presentation.
