IASB Final Project

Dear students,
With this notice we would like to summarise some important details about the final project. The due date is 13/06 and the submission should be done through Fénix, in the evaluation entry entitled "Final Project".
We incentivise the delivery of an organised project folder containing the Final Report, together with (when applicable) Schematics, Source Code, 3D Models, Technical Drawings, and other materials of recognised importance to the execution of the project.
There is no fixed structure nor template for the Final Report. If you need inspiration, the project proposal template available on Fénix is a starting point. Nevertheless, the following aspects should be clear from your document:
- Problem Statement / Use Case
- Background / Physiological Basis
- Solution / Implementation Details
- Experimental Results
- References
Depending on the document structure, you should consider a tentative 10 page limit if you don't adopt a very formal structure (e.g. including index, figure list, table list, etc.), and a 20 page limit otherwise. Longer documents will be accepted, if/when necessary for a clear understanding of the work.
The projects will have a discussion with up to 1 hour duration, typically divided into 15 min. of presentation, 15 min. live demo of your prototype, and 30 min. of Q&A. Discussions will be held in person at IST, although Zoom or hybrid formats may also be scheduled when duly justified.
We have blocked 24/06 and 25/06 between 9.00AM and 2.00PM; the slots for each group should be arranged with the class delegate. The grading of the projects will be done based on the following criteria:
[Discussion - 30%]
10% - Presentation
20% - Discussion
[Report - 30%]
5% - Structure / Graphical Aspect
5% - Motivation / Physiological Basis
5% - Problem Statement
10% - Experimental Results
5% - References
[Prototype - 30%]
[Global Appraisal - 10%]
Even though the class period is officially over, we will be completely available to discuss any questions that you may have over e-mail or scheduled meetings. Wish you all the best for the final stretch of the project.
