The paper version of MP4 must be submitted at the reception of INESC-ID until 20/12, tuesday, 20H.

CLIO Query Discovery Algorithm

When trying to solve MP4 question 1.2, the Query Discovery Algorithm presented in the slides and book, in particular its Phase 2, doesn't eliminate all candidate sets that it should in order to be able to generate SQL queries using joins.

After having read carefully the original paper (referred at the end of slides), it seems that Phase 2 must search for join paths in "all correspondences" of each candidate set that involve attributes from different source relations instead of considering each correspondence separately, as it is suggested in the book/slides.

Although this possible mistake has not been checked with the book's authors yet, we suggest that you follow this correction in order to finish MP4.
