Época Especial

Here is a description of the evaluation procedure for the Época Especial: 

  • The exam of Época Especial is a written examination that lasts 2 hours.  
  • It will take place in hall V1.32 on 21/07/2021, at 15:00.
  • The material of the exam of “Época Especial” will be everything that was covered in the theory lectures. The exam of Época Especial is equivalent to Test 1, Test 2, Quiz 1, and Quiz 2 from "Época Normal". For the total final grade, the best score of the respective results of Época Especial and Época Normal counts. Therefore, the exam of the Época Especial contributes 50% to the total final grade. The projects from the Época Normal contribute the remaining 50%.

  • Fermi's Golden Rule applied to negative and positive beta decay 
  • Fermi function and shape factor
  • Allowed decays: Fermi and Gamow-Teller, selection rules, Mixed decays
  • Selection rules for forbidden decays
  • Comparative half lives, ft values and degree of forbiddeness

On May 5, we will have the revisão de provas of the Test 1, and support for theory project 2.
On May 12, groups with theory project 1 will get help (and should prepare their questions) with their project.
