[EE]: Grades

The grades of EE Exam are now available at 'Assessment' tab.
Due to the nature of the exam, I do not foresee the need for a formal exam's lookup by the students. 
Any questions regarding the exam should be posted by mail, as soon as possible, and no later than Sunday, September 6, 24:00.


[EE]: Information about the Special Exam

Please read carefully these instructions, as they contain relevant information for the special exam.


  1. The special exam is held remotely on September 2nd at 17:00 (Portugal time).
  2. The duration of each exam is 01:00.
  3. Platform Google Forms is used.
  4. The exam is composed of 2 parts: the 1st part is composed by 10 multiple choice questions and lasts for 00:10; the second part is composed by 3 problems and lasts for 00:50.
  5. The links for each part are given sequentially: the link for the 1st part is given at 17:00 and the link for the 2nd part is made available at 17:10.
  6. To obtain the links for each part, students must attend a ZOOM meeting during the exam. The links for the ZOOM meetings are given at the end of this document.
  7. The times are sharp, absolutely no tolerance is given. Therefore, it is strongly advised to always keep an eye on the watch.
  8. Students are required to sign a declaration of honour. The link for the declaration of honour is given at the end of this document. It should be submitted any time till 24 hours before the exam starts. Students answering “NO” or not submitting the declaration of honour will be graded 0 in the exam.
  9. The grade for the 1st part is 8/20 and the grade for the 2nd part is 12/20. 
  10. In the theory part, 100% is given for each correct answer, 0% for no answer and -25% for wrong answer.
  11. In the problems part, both the numeric result, with a reasonable tolerance, and the reasoning are to be evaluated. The numeric result is weighted 50% and the reasoning 50%. 
  12. In the problems part, the students must place the numeric result in the Google Forms questionnaire and are allowed to deliver one page max per problem containing the reasoning for that problem. The reasonings pdf must be delivered by email to rcastro@tecnico.ulisboa.pt within 10 minutes after the 50 minutes time.
  13. The units and decimal places (DP) of the answer number are given.
  14. The assessment is open book. However, the use of a memory aid with all the relevant formulas is strongly advised, because the available time is short and will not allow to consult the notes online.
  15. The exam marks are released afterwards and posted on Fénix.

[E2+Final]: Grades

The grades of E2 are now available in section ‘Assessment’, as well as the key. 

Also, the final EMEn course grade is displayed in the pdf. All students are kindly requested to verify their grades and report any mismatch.
E2 will be available for students to look up on Monday, February 3rd, 10:30 a.m., at the library of Energy Section (Electricity Building).
The grades have been adjusted so that to obtain round grades. The grades that were rounded are gray highlighted in the pdf. If, during the exams lookup, the grades are changed, the baseline is the grade initially given and not the rounded grade.
In Q#1, point#1, the pdf displays the number of right answers. No penalization was given to wrong answers. The grade for each right answer was 1/7=14.286%.

The grades of E1 are now available in section ‘Assessment’, as well as the key. 
E1 will be available for students to look up on Tuesday, January, 14th, 10:30 a.m., at the library of Energy Section (Electricity Building).
The grades have been adjusted so that to obtain round grades. The grades that were rounded are gray highlighted in the pdf. If, during the exams lookup, the grades are changed, the baseline is the grade initially given and not the rounded grade.
