Seminar – Doctors Without Borders - Engineering in Humanitarian Action

Dear students,

next week we will have a seminar by the organization Doctors Without Borders.

It will take place during our regular classes:

10 october (Friday), from 3pm-5 pm

In room VA2 (Civil Engineering, Floor -1)

The lecture will be given by the Doctors Without Borders representative in Portugal (João Antunes) and an Técnico alumnus (Luís Ferreira) who currently works for the organization. 

The speakers will share their experience of working in a humanitarian context. Although the name of the organization doesn't give it away, the organization doesn't just work with health professionals, but also with specialists in various areas, such as information technology, construction, energy, water and sanitation, logistics, among others. All Doctors Without Borders employees are paid professionals with previous work experience. Doctors Without Borders does not work on a volunteer basis or with recent graduates.

The lecture is open to all Técnico community, so bring your friends and colleagues who are curious about the topic but are not enrolled in our curricular unit.
