Dear Students,

Thanks for the patience, I am sending you the grades, here.

I have to say Congratulations! Overall, taking into account the complex challenges you tackled, your projects where good/very good (average grade = 16 POINTS).

My general evaluation is that you engaged very well with each other - and with me and Diogo - during the course; you have all participated  actively in classes generating interesting discussions and insights; you developed good team and individual work and came up with creative business ideas. It was a pleasure working with you last  semester!

If you need some additional clarification on the grades please just send me an e-mail today (Friday, 14 jul), until 2 pm please – I  am planning to reply in the afternoon and publish the final grades by the end of the day at the Secretariat.

Applications to the E.Awards@Técnico – Deadline: June 18th 2023.

All IST students enrolled in an Entrepreneurship course unit in the academic year 2022-2023 are eligible to apply.

• Only applications made through the respective Form will be considered. FORM HERE 

• All candidates must attach to the Entry Form a POSTER* of their project

Deadlines

• Submission of applications: June 18th 2023 

• Info session: release soon

• Communication of the projects selected for the final pitch: until June 23rd 2023;

• Exhibition of posters to be voted on by the IST community: June 26th to July 5th 2023;

• Final Pitch: July 5th 2023

Evaluation Criteria

In the first phase of tabulation, the jury’s assessment will be based on the following criteria:

• Development status of the project;

• Competence and suitability of the team;

• Technology/ Degree of innovation and feasibility of the project;

• Validation and potential of the business model or social and environmental impact.

In the Final Pitch the jury will evaluate each project based on the 3-minute pitch and how the team answered the questions, with the following criteria:

• Business model: validation by customers, revenue model, partnerships, customer acquisition, market and the like;

• Potential for Social and Environmental Impact;

• Technology: feasibility, complexity, quality of prototype, and the like;

• Presentation: quality and effectiveness of the speaker and slides, graphic quality of the prototype and website, among other acceptable supports.

Awards

In this edition, the best entrepreneurship projects selected by the jury are awarded with the following values:

• Best E.Project by Santander – €3.500;

• Honorable Mention by by Accenture – €1000;

• Honorable Mention by Armilar Ventures –  €1000;

• Best Poster by Accenture – 2 awards of €500 each;

• Consultancy Hours for the 3 Winning Projects by Armilar Ventures.

Dear Students,

Tomorrow you will have a special Workshop by Accenture on “Sustainability and Entrepreneurship” – Room GA2 at 15:30h

The workshop will be held by Dr. Patrícia Antunes – Director Of Sustainability at Accenture Portugal

Summary: How can you Incorporate sustainability into your project, mitigate risks and identify opportunities? How can projects be sustainable and have a positive impact on the environment, society and governance?  In this session we will map sustainability concepts, learn to incorporate them into projects and market solutions and reflect on the application of these principles in the projects being currently developed by students."

You will have the chance to meet top level professionals from Accenture, reinforce your networking, learn more about Sustainability and discuss/apply those concepts to your TBE projects.

Your presence and participation will be highly valued and graded (under the criterium: critical thinking and capacity to discuss the topics and to defend key arguments). 

Organizing this workshop involved an effort from myself, Prof. Diogo, Technology Transfer Area @ IST and Accenture Portugal. Dr. Patrícia Antunes is going to share her time and expertise with you, therefore...
