Silica Lab - Data analysis

The silica lab classes have now finished, so the remaining tasks are the analysis of results and the writing of the report. Here are some notes:

  • The report is expected to have around 20 pages total (from cover page to references inclusive); there is no maximum or minimum number of pages.
  • The structure of the report should be the following: title page, abstract, table of contents, table of figures/tables, introduction, materials, methodology, discussion, conclusion and references.
    • Notice that there are two distinct parts of the discussion: in one of them, you should analyse your group's DLS results (file obtained during the class); and then you should compare the diameter with the standard deviation of all the syntheses based on a table that I'll make available after May 15th.
      • For this to be possible, each group need to paste into the shared Excel file the Silica NPs diameter from DLS global analysis with standard deviation until May 15th.
  • Additionally, I believe that most groups did not record that a stirring speed of 650 rpm was used during nanoparticle synthesis.
