How is Moodle organized?

Moodle is organized by weeks/themes:

I don't see all the themes yet!

In time you will 😊.

What sections does each week/theme have?

Preparation/deepening materials, application - home autonomous tasks, class presence check and occasionally weekly challenge.

What are preparation/deepening materials?

Materials that prepare you for the theme we address that week on class and application tasks.

What do I have to do?

Read or view, answer the teachers' questions, create discussions, and answer your colleagues' discussions.

There is still no discussion threads from my colleagues. What now?

Someone has to be number one 😊. Please create your discussion thread and come back later.

How do I know if I did everything?

Feedbackfruits - the tool we use for this interactive preparation - gives you this information, no worries.

Do I have to do this, even if I go to the classes or do the application tasks?

Suppose you want to earn 100 points for the preparation for that week, yes! Preparation is one thing. Application is another.

What are application home autonomous tasks?

You can do tasks if you prefer not to go to classes and practice the theme by yourself. Here they are!

I went to class. Do I have to do the autonomous application tasks?

No need to, but if you want to go ahead - at the end of your time together, we will find the maximum of the application in class and the application tasks, so doing both in terms of points is irrelevant, but if you feel you want to learn more, we love the idea!

But if I do both, on Moodle, my grade will be 200 points of application, so I don't need to do the preparation

Someone tried that last trimester (surely by accident), and it didn't pay off. Application is home or task. If you do both, you can have an excellent grade on Moodle, but in terms of actual meaning, for your final grade, it means nothing (and can confuse you).

Moodle calculations are one thing. The real ones are another.

What is class presence check?

It's a quiz you can fill in if you went to class to know better what you did each week. This quiz is only for your information and grade preview. The teaching staff will use other ways to validate your presence in class.

Why is there a password?

To prevent everyone from doing it even if they are not in class, by accident or by trying, and something prepared to help you keep track of your grade will be more confusing than helpful.

But you give the password in class. I can give it to a friend that didn't go to class!

Yes, you can even post it on our discord server if you feel the need to. We don't see the point since it is only for you that went to class to preview your actual points during the trimester, but if you want to confuse someone else, go ahead :p.

These points will not have any meaning to the teaching staff. It is just for your organization - it was a request from last trimester's students because, like this, you can know any time what application tasks you missed and make sure you can make everything you need.

We want everyone to get the maximum points they can have, and this is why we have this quiz this trimester. We had students that failed application tasks because they thought they went to classes that they didn't.

What is a "Weekly Challenge"?

Every week we have one challenge to go beyond our theme. Here on Moodle, It's a place where you can add information, if you like, about our weekly challenge. This activity is optional, and no "grade points" will be gained. It's really for fun!

I still have questions!

Great! Let us know, and we will post them here!
