CNV-19-20: Labs Update (Lab 4)

Dear students,
Lab 4 guide for this week lab is available (see Labs Section).
We will be making use of a (system) virtual machine so that you can recreate the environment of the labs in your personal PC.
Check the guide and please download the virtual machine software, install it and use the virtual disk provided by RNL (kudos to RNL) to create a VM running the labs environment.
A recording of the run through of the Lab-4 class is available (Labs Section).

To speed up the process of completing last week's assigned lab, we set up a dropbox folder with a couple of videos going through the guide of Lab 3.

Update: clarification about how the placing of missing elements in the soduku are determined (in project description) with a series of prime-numbers (to scatter the missing elements in the puzzle).
Project Description, front-end web page, and server sample code is published (see Labs Section).
Bytecode instrumentation to be addressed in Lab4.

CNV-19-20 - Update - Lectures and Labs

Dear students,
In light of the instructions received from the IST President/Management Board, we inform and ask of you the following:
- There will be no classes this week.
- Lectures will resume by teleconference Thursday next week (Taguspark schedule) and everyone will be in-synch (as we had a final Lecture yesterday with the Alameda shift).
- Regarding Labs, Lab 3 had already been published before class cancelation and it is supposed to be an introduction to using AWS cloud services to build a simple load balancer and auto-scaler for a custom web server (a simple Java class replying to HTTP Request).
Please do your best to:
- set up your account (we need free for this example but later on you can use AWS educate accounts for extra credits).
- follow and complete the assignment (you can do it individually) it so that we can minimize delays later on.
- if you still do not have a group, contact the partial groups that need a third element for the project
More information until Monday 16th.
