Online Exams

Good morning

Regarding the exams:

1. Exams will take the form of two Moodle tests taken sequentially. In total there will be 25-30 questions roughly divided in half and with about 2 minutes. In total the two tests answering time will be one hour. 

2. For security all links will be placed in Lectures/Aulas Teóricas Section in the CNV course webpage, including exams links and info, zoom links, etc. We use this section to centralize everything regarding the theoretical part of the course (Fenix is currently not allowing to enforce permissions to newly created sections somehow).

3. The tests will be carried out in the department (DEI) Moodle platform. You need to login with your IST and Fenix credentials. Try to login this as soon as you can but we have checked many students have already logged in.

4. The tests require a password that will be provided in the chat of the Zoom meeting that you need to attend during the exam. When joining Zoom, your number, first and last name (or full name) must be visible.

5. You need to keep your camera and microphone on from the beginning of the 1st test until the end of the 2nd test but please stay silent. Any emergency communication during the exam, use only the private message to me on the zoom chat.

6. Given the short duration of the tests, everyone must stay online until the end of the test.

7. Disregard any partial grade that may appear in Moodle, we will publish the complete grades later.

CNV-19-20 - Project Discussions/Defenses Schedules

Dear students,

Good morning.

Project discussions/defenses are taking place next week June 9th and June 12th (week with two holidays).

The doodle for scheduling CNV project discussion/defenses is the following:

The zoom link to be used is the one of the Wednesdays 16h30 Lab shift.

Make sure you have video enabled so we can confirm your identity (even if just at the beginning with a mobile phone if no laptop/web cam).

Any other situations, e-mail meic-cnv@tecnico (incomplete address), to be analysed in a case-by-case basis.

CNV-19-20: Project Final Checks

Project Final Checks:

- make sure that your LB is able to handle worker instance failure or unavailability and repeat the requests affected.

- make sure that your LB uses instrumentation metrics (and cost estimations based on these) to decide where to execute each arriving request, considering the total load/cost of running/pending requests in each instance.

- make sure that your AS is able to make efficient scale-out/scale-in decisions by combining the information regarding instance CPU load with the specific cost information of arriving requests and all running/pending requests across your cluster.

- don't forget you have one additional day after code submission to complete and polish the report.
