Plan for the projects

Dear students,

I read some of the reports of the first project and I detected both a general difficulty in producing an algorithm that is correct (satisfies a specification) and, even more saliently, a general difficulty in conveying the idea of an algorithm in writing. In order to invest on a mature design, development, and documentation for the second project, I plan to suppress the third project. Concretely, the plan is the following:

• The first project will be graded with 15% of 20.
  
• The second project will be graded with 25% of 20. I will give one more week for concluding the second project, deadline November 17, and I will allow reports with four pages.
• As previously planned, during the last two weeks of the semester, I will test your projects and will have a discussion about them with you.

Any objection to this plan should be made known to me up until the next class, on Thursday.
