Wednesday, June 21, at 14h00, we will have a seminar in the meeting room of the Mechanical Eng. III bldg., 4th floor.

Juan Manuel Escaño is Associate Professor at Universidad Loyola Andalucía. Senior member IEEE and member of EUSFLAT, IFAC and ISA. Previously, He has been the Advanced Control Systems Group Leader in the Nimbus Centre at Cork Institute of Technology. He has more than 25 years of experience in academy and industry. His current research interests focus on Intelligent Control Systems, Fuzzy Model Predictive Control, Embedded Control Systems and fault detection and tolerant systems. He has been involved in a number of international and national research projects in Process Industry and Energy. In addition he has driven client engagement and support for EU funding acquisition to support the research activities securing funding from National and EU sources (FP7, H2020).


Fuzzy Predictive Control Model: Reduction of complexity for implementation in industrial systems. A Principal Functional Component Analysis is used to reduce the complexity of the model, reducing the computational complexity of the application of predictive control systems based on nonlinear models, using as platform hardware systems with low computational power, allowing a realistic implementation based on Industry standards.
