Com uma crescente escassez de recursos financeiros, as empresas são obrigadas a aumentar a sua eficiência operacional, a fim de reduzir os seus custos para manter as suas margens de lucro. É neste contexto que a metodologia Lean surge com o objetivo de eliminar desperdícios, aumentar a standardização, aumentar a flexibilidade de serviços da empresa de acordo com a procura do cliente e implementar uma cultura da melhoria contínua. O presente trabalho pretende empregar metodologias e ferramentas Lean para diagnosticar e propor soluções sobre a eficiência operacional da empresa aeronáutica portuguesa OGMA no âmbito de Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) de motores de aeronaves. Em relação à empresa, o volume de negócios em MRO de motores da OGMA está comprometido pelo tempo de manutenção mais baixo dos seus concorrentes diretos. Por este motivo, a redução do tempo de manutenção é o principal objetivo do presente trabalho, obtendo assim uma maior capacidade da linha de manutenção. Com isto é esperada uma maior satisfação do cliente, através da conformidade com a qualidade e cumprimento atempado de entregas, o que em última instância aumenta a competitividade no mercado global., en=In the context of an increasingly competitive global market with sudden and unexpected transformations, some enterprises see their volume of business and market share decrease as new players emerge. Resulting in an increased scarcity of finantial resources, the companies are compelled to increase their operational efficiency, in order to mitigate the costs and maitain and increase their profit margins. It is in this segment that the Lean methodology appears with the objective of eliminating wastes, increasing standardization, increasing the company’s services flexibility according to the client demand and implement a culture of continuous improvement. The present document intends to employ Lean methodologies and Lean tools to diagnose and propose solutions regarding the improvement of operational efficiency of the portuguese aeronautic enterprise OGMA in the extent of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of aircraft engines. Regarding the company, OGMA’s volume of business of engines MRO is jeopardized by the shorter Turn Around Time (TAT) delivered by its direct competitors. For this reason, the reduction of the current MRO TAT is the main objective of the present work, for increasnig the capacity of the plant and for achieving the highest possible client satisfaction through quality and On Time Delivery (OTD) compliance and thus increasing competitiveness in the global market.}
