Detalhes: {pt= A origem da navegação tem como base o desenvolvimento das embarcações à vela. A arte de capturar a força dos ventos para a navegação surgiu de forma independente em diversas partes do mundo. Com o passar dos séculos, chegando aos dias de hoje, velejar não só passou de ter como principal objetivo o transporte marítimo, mas também passou a ser um desporto e um passatempo. Através da evolução tecnológica, hoje em dia, dispomos de variados aparelhos e previsões meteorológicas que nos ajudam a ter uma navegação segura e calculada. Contudo, o elevado aumento de dispositivos móveis e a sua elevada utilização levou ao desenvolvimento de novos softwares de navegação que estão acessíveis a qualquer pessoa que possua estes dispositivos. Embora esta evolução tenha trazido muitas vantagens para a navegação à vela, nomeadamente o suporte que é dado em alto mar, o mesmo não acontece, para embarcações de recreio, principalmente à vela, que experimentam dificuldades em navegar em estuários, pequenas baias e lagos devido a correntes fortes, ventos de intensidade e direção variáveis e restrições à navegação (canais, etc.). Deste modo, a partir dos dados fornecidos por Maretec (IST) e por meteoTécnico, a aplicação BayNav desenvolvida representa a variável meteorológica do vento, a variável marítima da corrente e uma representação fictícia da rota seguida por uma embarcação. , en=The origin of navigation is based on the development of sailing vessels. The art of capturing the force of the winds for navigation emerged independently in different parts of the world. During centuries, up to the present, sailing not only went from having maritime transport as its main objective, but also turned into a sport and a hobby. Through technological evolution, nowadays, we have different devices and weather forecast sources that promote safe navigation. However, the huge increase in mobile devices and their high usage led to the development of new navigation software that is accessible to everyone. Although this development has brought many advantages to sailing, in particular the support on high seas, small vessels experience difficulties in navigating estuaries with strong currents, strong winds, and navigation restrictions (channels, etc.). Thus, from the data provided by Maretec (IST), the BayNav application developed presents the variables wind and current and the representation of a route. All the process and decisions taken during the development of BayNav are explained here. An iterative and incremental paradigm was followed during development, with the goal to allow BayNav users to understand the application and provide them with better content, adapted to their needs. After achieving the final version of our application, we performed usability tests in order to understand if it is useful, functional and has good usability considering users’ needs. The results of those tests are presented in this document and allowed us to confirm that BayNav was successfully accepted by users. }
