Protocolo de Colaboração IST/CERN - 9ª chamada de candidaturas

Na sequência do acordo de colaboração estabelecido entre o IST e o CERN, estudantes e recém-graduados do Técnico têm a oportunidade de se candidatar a membros associados do CERN por um período extensível até 3 anos, onde poderão colaborar em projetos de diferentes áreas de engenharia, nomeadamente, electrotécnica, informática, mecânica e física.

Esta oportunidade única oferece um importante complemento à formação universitária dos alunos, através de uma experiência enriquecedora em diversos projectos de investigação em curso numa instituição de renome internacional como o CERN, usufruindo ainda de uma remuneração mensal muito atractiva.

Prof. José Bioucas Dias distinguished with the IEEE GRSS David Landgrebe Award

Prof. Jose Bioucas Dias of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department was distinguished with the "The IEEE GRSS David Landgrebe Award”. This recognition is a IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) career award, “which is awarded for outstanding contributions in the field of remote sensing image analysis."


IST team selected to Fly Your Satellite 2017 at ESTEC

The ‘Fly Your Satellite!’ programme gives to teams “engaged in the design of a CubeSat mission the opportunity to build, test, launch and operate their own satellite mission with support from ESA specialists”.

“A panel of ESA experts reviewed the proposals and shortlisted eight university student teams to visit ESA’s Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) as part of the Fly Your Satellite! programme’s Selection Workshop, taking place this week from the 1st to 5th of May.” In this short list is the IST team:

ISTnanosat-1, Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal, who will use their CubeSat to demonstrate an aircraft detection technology

Prof. José Bioucas Dias Elevated to IEEE Fellow

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world’s largest professional organization for the advancement of technology, has elevated Prof. Jose Bioucas Dias of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department to the honorary position of Fellow, effective on January, 2017, by recognition for Prof. Bioucas’s contributions in “imaging inverse problems in remote sensing”.
