Detalhes: {pt=Este portfólio descreve a análise, o processo e o resultado final de um projecto de reabilitação na segunda maior cidade de Cabo Verde, Mindelo. O objectivo do projecto é reabilitar um edifício de escritórios do movimento moderno que tinha, no passado, albergado a agência marítima e portuária da cidade, assim como a sede da polícia da mesma e adaptar o seu uso e infraestrutura ao programa de Hotel. Este programa surge como uma preocupação pela reabilitação e preservação do património de valor histórico e cultural, onde a necessidade do respeito pelo passado é extremamente necessária, apesar de ser igualmente importante implementar e considerar novas técnicas que possam melhorar e ajudar a manter o edifício para o futuro. No entanto, este projecto não foi pensado como uma restauração mas sim como uma adaptação do antigo uso do edifício a um novo uso. Este é um novo conceito em expansão, que pretende manter a história de um local ao longo da evolução da cidade, adaptando-se a diferentes tempos e necessidades, ajudando o edifício a manter-se a si mesmo., en=This portfolio describes the analysis, design process and the outcome project of a rehabilitation intervention in the second largest city of Cape Verde, Mindelo. The goal of this project is to refurbish an office building from the modern period, once the port and sea agency and the police headquarters of Mindelo and convert it into an infrastructure with an Hotel program. This Program appears as a concern for rehabilitation and preservation of her- itage with historical and cultural value, where the need of respect for the past is very important, but one cannot disregard the implementation of new techniques that can improve and help to maintain the building for the future. However, this project is not thought of as a restoration but as an adaptation of the building’s ancient purpose to a new one. This is an emerging concept that envisions to keep the history of a place to follow the timeline of a city, throught its different times and needs, helping the building to maintain it self.}
