Bioengineering covers a wide domain. It possesses the unique property of transversing three fundamental sciences: biology, engineering and medicine. This property provides the substrate for Health Science.

The Department of Bioengineering has four scientific areas that cover much of the valencies required for a solid development and human resource formation in Health Sciences. These are desired to interoperate fostering new approaches. The following graphical representation depicts some of the already existing interoperability between the different scientific areas.
