Dual PhD Program CMU-Portugal in Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Técnico (ULisboa) offers a dual degree PhD program in Computer Science in cooperation with the Department of Computer Science of the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. This PhD program is part of the activities of the Information and Communication Technologies Institute (ICTI), resulting from a Portugal-CMU partnership agreement. Admission to this program requires a separate application and admission to the CMU and Técnico programs. In both cases, candidates should mention that they are applying to the dual degree program in the statement of purpose. In the specific case of the CMU application, they also need to select the option of applying to the PhD in Computer Science/Dual Degree Portugal, and mention in the statement of purpose that the Portuguese partner institution they are simultaneously applying to is the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Técnico (ULisboa).
